Welcome to The Wandering Lad (alternative title: The Travel Thirst Is Real).

My name is Brandon. I'm a 20-something writer based in New York City with an educational background in media and journalism, and day job experience in digital marketing.

I discovered my obsession with travel in 2008, on a tour of London, Paris, Florence, Assisi, and Rome. Since then, I have been all over the continental United States and taken additional trips to London and Paris, as well as Iceland, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

My wish list of destinations is long and, at the time of this writing, my wallet is short. So, this blog is helping to serve as a way to tame the wanderlust. New entries past the first few will most likely be about the northeastern U.S. and points of interest in and around New York City.

I seek to tell stories about the places I've been that inform, entice, and are propelled forward by a human element. Sometimes these will take the form of spotlights on a city or country, sometimes they'll be about a specific establishment, convention, neighborhood or lifestyle concept. LGBT perspectives will also be a running theme.

Believe me when I say that I'm just getting started, and I'm excited to welcome my first readers on this exciting journey!
